We stopped on our travels from Florida. We are long-time customers -- both in-store and mail-order. We bought FOUR BIG BAGS of jerky, and opened trwo of the bags to eat on our way from Great Falls to Missoula. First bites out of each bag just aboug made us each gag. We could not believe how different the jerky tasted -- how BAD it tasted. I commented that mine tasted like dog food. My husband said that his tasted like it had been soaked in something. We tried a couple more bites throughout the ride, but it didn't get any better. On our way back to Missoula, we returned the two unopened bags, with great disappointment that the old Hi-Country Jerky taste was gone.

I have bought hi country jerky for years- this last order is almost inedible to me- it has gone from tender sliced where you could still call it jerky to mush- whatever has been changed since a corporation bought hi country should be changed back if they want to stay in business

So tender and delicious!

I can understand making softer jerky but this jerky is way too soft! I used to buy Hi Country jerky for traveling. I love the flavor and it always had a decent chew. These bags make me think that something has changed in the recipe or cooking process and the result is a Jerry that is almost mush. Unless something changes, I won't be buying from HI Country again.

Not really a jerky, more beefstick. Wasnt a fan
